Gala Award ceremony of the winners of the VII White Square was held on the 25th of April. The competition consisted of 1038 entries, in 13 contests, 122 nominations, from 13 countries of the CIS and Europe. The entries were evaluated by five international jury categories.
According to the opinion of jury members the Festival was held at a high European level and demonstrated best traditions and established new higher requirements for professional advertising community.
At Gala Award ceremony sounded one of the main ideas of creative concept of this year Festival developed by Russian branding agency Tomatdesign – “Peace is gold!”, proclaiming that there should be only battles of ideas.
Due to Karina Ogandzhanyan, Vice-President of TWIGA Communication group, Russia, the Chairman of marketing jury, the member of Cannes Lions jury 2014, “the jury didn’t evaluate the entries that were strongly politicized. We, people from different countries, with different vision of political questions, decided not to discuss politics. That’s why the evaluation of such entries was rather quick”.
In Andrew Gubaydullin’s opinion, Founder and Executive Creative Director at Voskhod, Russia, the member of Creative jury, “even in conditions of crisis it’s possible to make great festivals. Sorry if you don’t see yourself among the winners in Film, Radio, Innovation, Print categories – creative jury was very strict. But if you still find yourself there it means your entry is worth of any praise”.
Andrew Kontra, Creative Director at BBDO Proximity, Canada/Russia, the member of Interactive jury, notified at the press-conference: “Many entries put particular level in advertising industry and should be expressed not only at creative festivals but in life. There at White Square we saw the entries that were created to influence people’s lives. These are really high level entries”.
All award-winning entries are published here. In total the jury awarded 24 golds, 30 silvers, 56 bronzes, 67 short-lists, 3 special prizes. The holder of Grand Prix is Ukrainian Saatchi&Saatchi. Creative Belarusian agency of the Festival – AIDA Pioneer. Creative agency of the Festival having collected maximum number of points is Instinct Russia that added 4 gold trophies of White Square to the list of its numerous awards.
