DESIGN JURY HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!

For the seventh time International advertising and marketing Festival White Square will be held in the capital of Belarus, Minsk city, on April 23-25. For quite a short period of time White Square has become one of the most ambitious and dynamically developing festivals in Eastern Europe. The Festival collects about 1 500 entries and gathers over 700 participants from 25 countries of the world annually.

The competition program includes 13 contests which will be evaluated by five main jury categories: creative jury, design jury, marketing jury, interactive jury, social advertising jury.

At the moment complete Design Jury category has been announced:

 

Filipe Mesquita

Art director, designer, co-founder at This is Pacifica, PORTUGAL 

Professor of Coimbra University, lecturing Design and Multimedia at Sciences and Technology Faculty. Has been a jury of several prestigious ad festivals around the world including Design Jury of Cannes Lions and Art Directors Club of Europe Awards. In 2013 has been a Grand Jury at New York Festivals. Has won several awards at famous ad and design festivals both in Portugal and abroad including Cannes Lions (for Troll brand), ADCE, Spanish Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño and others. 

 

Mårten Knutsson

Executive Creative Director at Family Business, SWEDEN


Family Business is an agency specializing in creative result-oriented solutions for retail brands globally. The main clients are Absolut Vodka and H&M. Has won more than 100 international advertising awards including gold in Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Eurobest, Epica, Cresta, Sabre Awards, PIAF, Kuldmuna, The Golden Egg and much more. Has been in the jury of prestigious ad festivals such as D&AD, D&AD Black Pencils, London International Awards, New York Festivals, Dubai Lynx, The Golden Egg, AdStars, Core77 and others.

Member of Art Directors Club of Russia, member of Association of Branding Companies of Russia. Vasily Andreyev

Design Partner at SECTOR Estonia, Founder at BalticDesignSchool (Minsk Vilnius Riga), BELARUS


Graduated from HDK, Goteborg University, Sweden with diploma in Industrial Design. Curator of Industrial Design / CPD program, a teacher of Packaging Design module at British Higher School of Art & Design; Packaging Design program at EHU Vilnius. Worked in creative teams of SCA Hygiene products (R&D) and Depot WРF Brand&Identity, Russia. Was a jury member at such ad festivals as White Square, Red Apple, KIAF, Idea!, 6 Sense. 

 

Ignas Kozlovas

Board member of Lithuanian Association of Graphic Design, the graduate of Lithuanian Academy of Arts. Has been working in leading Lithuanian agencies such as BBDO, TBWA, McCann, Ogilvy that allowed him to collect  a long list of local and also world famous international clients such as Tuborg, Audi, L'Oréal, Statoil, few TeliaSonera group brands, TELE2, SEB bank. Is a holder of several industrial awards. Has been a jury of Adrenalinas ad festival, Lithuania.

Denys Savchenko

The agency has been several times awarded as the Most creative agency of Ukraine and traditionally holds the leading lines of different industrial ratings. Denys is a holder of a great number of prestigious advertising awards including Cannes Young Lions Competition, Golden Hammer, Golden Drum, ADC*Europe, Effie, Epica Book, 27, ADC*UA, Emergency INDEX (New York), White Square, KIAF, Red Apple and others. 

 

Riccardo Rachello

Art Director, Designer at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, ITALY/THE NETHERLANDS

 

Having started his career in Italian agency as a graphic designer and project developer, currently works at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam – one of the leading ad agencies in the world, holding a huge number of prestigious awards, including Grand Prix at Cannes Lions and White Square, awards of Clio and New York Festivals and many others. He is unfolding his career between digital and traditional, trying to blur that boundary every time he has a chance. His approach to creativity is quite difficult to fit within categories, as his background and curiosity lead most of the time to unexpected places and bridge between different disciplines and crafts. 

 

This jury category will evaluate the entries participating in the contests of graphic and communication design, label / package, outdoor advertising. The judging at White Square is based on the Regulation of jury work. It’s based on the principles of impartiality, objectivity and professionalism.  The main criteria of entries evaluation are originality, novelty of idea and quality of its implementation.

Full jury cast is currently at final stage of its forming and will be announced during February. Insignificant changes and adds in the jury are possible.
